CDO Nepal, in collaboration with the Kyeema Foundation, is implementing the Promotion of Women Empowerment and Rights (POWER) project in Ward 14 of Godawari Municipality.

It designed to uplift women from marginalized brick, carpet, and underprivileged communities by promoting organic vegetable farming, nursery management, entrepreneurship, and direct market access, POWER equips women with the tools to transform livelihoods.

Its integrated approach—combining skills training, productive assets, seed capital, micro-savings, and market linkages—enables participants to secure stable incomes, improve household nutrition, and move away from hazardous labor.

With deep community trust and strong implementation capacity, POWER is built to be scalable and sustainable, aiming to economically empower over 100 women and indirectly benefits 1,000+ community members

It Contributes to Sustinable Development Goals:

  • No Poverty – reducing economic vulnerability
  • Zero Hunger – strengthening food security
  • Gender Equality – empowering women as leaders
  • Decent Work & Economic Growth – fostering dignified livelihoods
  • Climate Action & Environmental Sustainability – promoting eco-friendly farming practices

This program is a transformative livelihood model that  break free from poverty. By blending hands-on skills training, access to resources, financial inclusion, and market linkages, it creates a sustainable ecosystem where women can thrive as entrepreneurs and community leaders.

What sets it apart:

  • Practical Skills for Independence: Organic farming, nursery management, and entrepreneurship training turn knowledge into income.
  • Resources That Matter: Inputs and infrastructure ensure year-round productivity.
  • Financial Freedom: Micro-savings groups, seed funding, and market access build resilience and independence.
  • Innovation in Action: Mobile clinics, soil testing, and climate-smart techniques drive sustainable growth.
  • Targeted Empowerment: Focused on women with the fewest opportunities, offering a genuine pathway to long-term economic security
  • The Big Picture It’s more than a program—it’s a movement of resilience and innovation, redefining poverty reduction by enabling women with limited means to build climate-resilient, market-oriented enterprises that uplift families and communities.
  • Year-Round Farming Practices
Reduced crop loss and better planning enable continuous cultivation.
