The Safe Motherhood and Child Care Project (SMCC) was introduced to reduce deaths and illnesses among women and infant especially in developing country.
Its goal is to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality and to improve the maternal and neonatal health through preventive and promotive activities as well as by addressing avoidable factors that cause death during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period.
OBJECTIVES :
The main objective of SMCC project is to reduce the rates of infant and maternal mortality through
- Preventive health care.
- Preventative sustainable health education and training.
- Increased access to healthcare services.
The project promote healthy, safe pregnancies for women in remote target areas by providing comprehensive ante-natal testing, educating, distributing essential vitamins and nutritional supplements, providing transportation to hospital and medical support to pregnant and lactating mothers.
SMCC uplift and promotion of local health post by supplying needed equipment for qualitative services to the communities. All the activities are implemented in close collaboration with local government and health institutions.
